How To Install libeckit-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libeckit-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libeckit-dev
libeckit-dev is:
ecKit is a cross-platform c++ toolkit that supports development of tools and applications at ECMWF. It is based on code developed over the last 20 years within the MARS software and was re-factored out to be reused by other applications. The main focus is UNIX/POSIX systems, and it has been thoroughly tested on AIX, Linux and Mac OSX. Historically, the code base pre-dates and in some way can be seen as a leaner substitute for some ‘Boost’ libraries.
ECMWF is the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts.
There are three methods to install libeckit-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libeckit-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libeckit-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libeckit-devInstall libeckit-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libeckit-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libeckit-devInstall libeckit-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libeckit-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libeckit-devHow To Uninstall libeckit-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libeckit-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libeckit-devUninstall libeckit-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libeckit-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libeckit-devRemove libeckit-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libeckit-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libeckit-devRemove libeckit-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libeckit-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
