What is libdrm2

This library implements the userspace interface to the kernel DRM services. DRM stands for “Direct Rendering Manager”, which is the kernelspace portion of the “Direct Rendering Infrastructure” (DRI). The DRI is currently used on Linux to provide hardware-accelerated OpenGL drivers.

This package provides the runtime environment for libdrm.

There are three methods to install libdrm2 on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libdrm2 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libdrm2

Remove libdrm2 Configurations and Data

To remove libdrm2 configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libdrm2
