How To Install libdnet on Rocky Linux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libdnet
on Rocky Linux 8.
What is libdnet
libdnet provides a simplified, portable interface to several low-level networking routines, including network address manipulation, kernel arp(4) cache and route(4) table lookup and manipulation, network firewalling (IP filter, ipfw, ipchains, pf, …), network interface lookup and manipulation, raw IP packet and Ethernet frame, and data transmission.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install libdnet
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libdnet.
Install libdnet on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libdnet
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libdnet
Install libdnet on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libdnet
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libdnet
How To Uninstall libdnet on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the libdnet
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libdnet
