What is libdmtx
libdmtx is open source software for reading and writing Data Matrix 2D bar-codes on Linux, Unix, OS X, Windows, and mobile devices. At its core libdmtx is a shared library, allowing C/C++ programs to use its capabilities without restrictions or overhead. The included utility programs, dmtxread and dmtxwrite, provide the official interface to libdmtx from the command line, and also serve as a good reference for programmers who wish to write their own programs that interact with libdmtx. All of the software in the libdmtx package is distributed under the LGPLv2 and can be used freely under these terms.
We can use yum or dnf to install libdmtx on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libdmtx.
Install libdmtx on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libdmtx using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libdmtx
Install libdmtx on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install libdmtx using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libdmtx
How To Uninstall libdmtx on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the libdmtx package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libdmtx
