How To Install libdmalloc-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libdmalloc-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libdmalloc-dev
libdmalloc-dev is:
Drop in replacement for the system’s
malloc',realloc’,calloc',free’ and other memory management routines while providing powerful debugging facilities configurable at runtime.
These facilities include such things as memory-leak tracking, fence-post write detection, file/line number reporting, and general logging of statistics.
This package contains the static libraries and documentation.
There are three methods to install libdmalloc-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libdmalloc-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libdmalloc-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libdmalloc-devInstall libdmalloc-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libdmalloc-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
