How To Install libdlt2 on Kali Linux

This component provides a log and trace interface, based on the standardised protocol specified in the AUTOSAR standard 4.0 DLT. This software can be used by GENIVI components and other applications as logging facility.

DLT library is used by apps that need to log to a DLT daemon directly and by apps that want to read logs from DLT daemon.

There are three methods to install libdlt2 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libdlt2 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libdlt2 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libdlt2

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libdlt2 using apt by running the following command:

Install libdlt2 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libdlt2 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libdlt2

sudo apt-get -y purge libdlt2
