How To Install libdlib-data on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libdlib-data
libdlib-data is:
Dlib is a general purpose cross-platform open source software library written in the C++ programming language. It now contains software components for dealing with networking, threads, graphical interfaces, complex data structures, linear algebra, statistical machine learning, image processing, data mining, XML and text parsing, numerical optimization, Bayesian networks, and numerous other tasks.
This package contains the trained models provided with dlib.
There are three methods to install libdlib-data on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libdlib-data Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libdlib-data using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libdlib-data
Install libdlib-data Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libdlib-data using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libdlib-data
Install libdlib-data Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libdlib-data using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libdlib-data
How To Uninstall libdlib-data on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libdlib-data package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libdlib-data
Uninstall libdlib-data And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libdlib-data and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libdlib-data
Remove libdlib-data Configurations and Data
To remove libdlib-data configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libdlib-data
Remove libdlib-data configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libdlib-data configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libdlib-data
