How To Install libdkim-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libdkim-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libdkim-dev
libdkim-dev is:
DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) defines a domain-level authentication framework for email using public-key cryptography and key server technology to permit verification of the source and contents of messages by either Mail Transport Agents (MTAs) or Mail User Agents (MUAs).
libdkim is a library, developed by Alt-N Technologies, that allows incorporating DKIM into an existing MTA or other application. It provides full support for signing, verifying, and SSP. See the changelogs for information on compliance with specifications.
This package contains the development files needed to compile and link programs with libdkim.
There are three methods to install libdkim-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libdkim-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libdkim-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libdkim-devInstall libdkim-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libdkim-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libdkim-devInstall libdkim-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libdkim-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libdkim-devHow To Uninstall libdkim-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libdkim-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libdkim-devUninstall libdkim-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libdkim-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libdkim-devRemove libdkim-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libdkim-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libdkim-devRemove libdkim-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
