How To Install libdasm on Rocky Linux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libdasm
on Rocky Linux 8.
What is libdasm
libdasm is a C-library that tries to provide simple and convenient way to disassemble Intel x86 raw op-code bytes (machine code). It can parse and print out op-codes in AT&T and Intel syntax. The op-codes are based on IA-32 Intel Architecture Software Developers Manual Volume 2 year 2004. Non-Intel instructions are not supported at the moment (also, non-Intel but Intel-compatible CPU extensions, like AMD 3DNow! are not supported).
We can use yum
or dnf
to install libdasm
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libdasm.
Install libdasm on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libdasm
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libdasm
Install libdasm on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libdasm
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libdasm
How To Uninstall libdasm on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the libdasm
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libdasm
