How To Install libcurl4 on Kali Linux

What is libcurl4
libcurl4 is:
libcurl is an easy-to-use client-side URL transfer library, supporting DICT, FILE, FTP, FTPS, GOPHER, HTTP, HTTPS, IMAP, IMAPS, LDAP, LDAPS, POP3, POP3S, RTMP, RTSP, SCP, SFTP, SMTP, SMTPS, TELNET and TFTP.
libcurl supports SSL certificates, HTTP POST, HTTP PUT, FTP uploading, HTTP form based upload, proxies, cookies, user+password authentication (Basic, Digest, NTLM, Negotiate, Kerberos), file transfer resume, http proxy tunneling and more!
libcurl is free, thread-safe, IPv6 compatible, feature rich, well supported, fast, thoroughly documented and is already used by many known, big and successful companies and numerous applications.
SSL support is provided by OpenSSL.
There are three methods to install libcurl4 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libcurl4 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libcurl4 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libcurl4Install libcurl4 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libcurl4 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libcurl4Install libcurl4 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libcurl4 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libcurl4How To Uninstall libcurl4 on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libcurl4 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libcurl4Uninstall libcurl4 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libcurl4 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcurl4Remove libcurl4 Configurations and Data
To remove libcurl4 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libcurl4Remove libcurl4 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libcurl4 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libcurl4Dependencies
