How To Install libctl-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libctl-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libctl-dev
libctl-dev is:
libctl is a free Guile-based library implementing flexible control files for scientific simulations. It was written to support the MIT Photonic-Bands program, but will hopefully prove useful in other programs too.
This package contains the header files and static libraries.
There are three methods to install libctl-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libctl-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libctl-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libctl-devInstall libctl-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libctl-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libctl-devInstall libctl-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libctl-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libctl-devHow To Uninstall libctl-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libctl-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libctl-devUninstall libctl-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libctl-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libctl-devRemove libctl-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libctl-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libctl-devRemove libctl-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
