How To Install libcrack2 on Debian 10

on Debian 10.
What is libcrack2
libcrack2 is:
Shared library for cracklib2 which contains a C function which may be used in a passwd like program. The idea is simple: try to prevent users from choosing passwords that could be guessed by crack by filtering them out, at source. cracklib2 is NOT a replacement passwd program. cracklib2 is a LIBRARY.
There are three methods to install libcrack2
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libcrack2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libcrack2
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libcrack2

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libcrack2
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libcrack2
Install libcrack2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libcrack2
using aptitude

How To Uninstall libcrack2 on Debian 10
To uninstall only the libcrack2
package we can use the following command:
