How To Install libcohttp-ocaml on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install libcohttp-ocaml
on Debian 12.
What is libcohttp-ocaml
libcohttp-ocaml is:
Cohttp is an OCaml library for creating HTTP daemons. It has a portable HTTP parser, and implementations using various asynchronous programming libraries.
It has concrete implementations for many targets, including lwt, lwt-unix, lwt-jsoo.
You can implement other targets using the parser very easily. Look at the IO signature in lib/s.mli and implement that in the desired backend.
You can activate some runtime debugging by setting COHTTP_DEBUG to any value, and all requests and responses will be written to stderr. Further debugging of the connection layer can be obtained by setting CONDUIT_DEBUG to any value.
This package contains the shared runtime libraries.
There are three methods to install libcohttp-ocaml
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude

Install libcohttp-ocaml Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libcohttp-ocaml

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libcohttp-ocaml
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libcohttp-ocaml
How To Uninstall libcohttp-ocaml on Debian 12
To uninstall only the libcohttp-ocaml
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libcohttp-ocaml
Uninstall libcohttp-ocaml And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libcohttp-ocaml
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcohttp-ocaml

configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libcohttp-ocaml

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libcohttp-ocaml
