How To Install libcminpack1 on Debian 12

Learn how to install libcminpack1 on Debian 12 with this tutorial. libcminpack1 is Nonlinear equations and nonlinear least squares problems - runtime

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install libcminpack1 on Debian 12.

What is libcminpack1

libcminpack1 is:

Minpack includes software for solving nonlinear equations and nonlinear least squares problems. Five algorithmic paths each include a core subroutine and an easy-to-use driver. The algorithms proceed either from an analytic specification of the Jacobian matrix or directly from the problem functions. The paths include facilities for systems of equations with a banded Jacobian matrix, for least squares problems with a large amount of data, and for checking the consistency of the Jacobian matrix with the functions.

This is the C re-write of the original fortran minpack implementation.

This package contains the libraries needed to run cminpack applications.

There are three methods to install libcminpack1 on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libcminpack1 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libcminpack1 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libcminpack1

Install libcminpack1 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libcminpack1 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libcminpack1

Install libcminpack1 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libcminpack1 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libcminpack1

How To Uninstall libcminpack1 on Debian 12

To uninstall only the libcminpack1 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libcminpack1

Uninstall libcminpack1 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libcminpack1 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcminpack1

Remove libcminpack1 Configurations and Data

To remove libcminpack1 configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libcminpack1

Remove libcminpack1 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libcminpack1 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libcminpack1

Dependencies
