How To Install libclone-perl on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install libclone-perl on Kali Linux.

What is libclone-perl

libclone-perl is:

The Clone module provides a clone() method which makes recursive copies of nested hash, array, scalar and reference types, including tied variables and objects.

It is faster (although less flexible) than Storable’s dclone. Its functionality is not serializing in-memory objects (i.e. as Data::Dumper or YAML::Dump do), but deep-copying them over to new in-memory structures.

There are three methods to install libclone-perl on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libclone-perl Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libclone-perl using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libclone-perl

Install libclone-perl Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libclone-perl using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libclone-perl

Install libclone-perl Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libclone-perl using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libclone-perl

How To Uninstall libclone-perl on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the libclone-perl package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libclone-perl

Uninstall libclone-perl And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libclone-perl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libclone-perl

Remove libclone-perl Configurations and Data

To remove libclone-perl configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libclone-perl
