How To Install libclips-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libclips-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libclips-dev
libclips-dev is:
CLIPS is an OPS-like forward chaining production system written in ANSI C by NASA. The CLIPS inference engine includes truth maintenance, dynamic rule addition, and customizable conflict resolution strategies.
CLIPS, including the runtime version, is easily embeddable in other applications. CLIPS includes an object-oriented language called COOL (CLIPS Object-Oriented Language) which is directly integrated with the inference engine.
This package installs the static libraries and headers.
There are three methods to install libclips-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libclips-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libclips-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libclips-devInstall libclips-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libclips-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libclips-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libclips-devHow To Uninstall libclips-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libclips-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libclips-devUninstall libclips-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libclips-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libclips-devRemove libclips-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libclips-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libclips-devRemove libclips-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
