How To Install libcitygml2 on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libcitygml2
libcitygml2 is:
libcitygml is a small and easy to use open source C++ library for parsing CityGML files in such a way that data can be easily exploited by 3D rendering applications (geometry data are tesselated and optimized for rendering during parsing). For instance, it can be used to develop readers of CityGML files in many 3D based applications (OpenGL, OpenSceneGraph, …) Most metadata are not lost, they are available through a per-node hashmap.
CityGML (City Geography Markup Language) is an XML-based schema for the modelling and exchange of georeferenced 3D city and landscape models that is quickly being adopted on an international level.

There are three methods to install libcitygml2 on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libcitygml2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libcitygml2 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libcitygml2
Install libcitygml2 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libcitygml2 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libcitygml2
Install libcitygml2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libcitygml2 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libcitygml2
How To Uninstall libcitygml2 on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libcitygml2 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libcitygml2
Uninstall libcitygml2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libcitygml2 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcitygml2
Remove libcitygml2 Configurations and Data
To remove libcitygml2 configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libcitygml2
Remove libcitygml2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libcitygml2 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libcitygml2
