How To Install libcib4 on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install libcib4
on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is libcib4
libcib4 is:
At its core, Pacemaker is a distributed finite state machine capable of co-ordinating the startup and recovery of inter-related services across a set of machines.
Pacemaker understands many different resource types (OCF, SYSV, systemd) and can accurately model the relationships between them (colocation, ordering).
It can even use technology such as Docker to automatically isolate the resources managed by the cluster.
This package contains the Cluster Information Base library.
There are three methods to install libcib4
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libcib4 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libcib4
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libcib4
Install libcib4 Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libcib4
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libcib4
Install libcib4 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libcib4
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libcib4
How To Uninstall libcib4 on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libcib4
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libcib4
Uninstall libcib4 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libcib4
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcib4
Remove libcib4 Configurations and Data
To remove libcib4
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libcib4
Remove libcib4 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libcib4
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libcib4
