How To Install libcfg6 on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libcfg6
libcfg6 is:
The Corosync Cluster Engine is a Group Communication System with additional features for implementing high availability within applications. The project provides four C Application Programming Interface features:
- A closed process group communication model with virtual synchrony guarantees for creating replicated state machines.
- A simple availability manager that restarts the application process when it has failed.
- A configuration and statistics in-memory database that provide the ability to set, retrieve, and receive change notifications of information.
- A quorum system that notifies applications when quorum is achieved or lost.
This package contains the CFG library.
There are three methods to install libcfg6
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libcfg6 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libcfg6
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libcfg6
Install libcfg6 Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libcfg6
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libcfg6
Install libcfg6 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libcfg6
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libcfg6
How To Uninstall libcfg6 on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libcfg6
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libcfg6
Uninstall libcfg6 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libcfg6
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcfg6
Remove libcfg6 Configurations and Data
To remove libcfg6
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libcfg6
Remove libcfg6 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libcfg6
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
