How To Install libcfg-dev on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libcfg-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libcfg-dev
libcfg-dev is:
The Corosync Cluster Engine is a Group Communication System with additional features for implementing high availability within applications. The project provides four C Application Programming Interface features:
- A closed process group communication model with virtual synchrony guarantees for creating replicated state machines.
- A simple availability manager that restarts the application process when it has failed.
- A configuration and statistics in-memory database that provide the ability to set, retrieve, and receive change notifications of information.
- A quorum system that notifies applications when quorum is achieved or lost.
This package contains the headers and other necessary files to build applications or libraries that use the CFG library.
There are three methods to install libcfg-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libcfg-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libcfg-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libcfg-devInstall libcfg-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libcfg-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libcfg-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libcfg-devHow To Uninstall libcfg-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libcfg-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libcfg-devUninstall libcfg-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libcfg-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcfg-devRemove libcfg-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libcfg-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libcfg-devRemove libcfg-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
