What is libcairo-perl

libcairo-perl is:

libcairo-perl provides access to the Cairo library.

Cairo is a 2D graphics library with support for multiple output devices. It is designed to produce consistent output on all output media while taking advantage of display hardware acceleration when available (eg. through the X Render Extension).

The cairo API provides operations similar to the drawing operators of PostScript and PDF. Operations in cairo including stroking and filling cubic Bézier splines, transforming and compositing translucent images, and antialiased text rendering. All drawing operations can be transformed by any affine transformation (scale, rotation, shear, etc.)

There are three methods to install libcairo-perl on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libcairo-perl Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

Install libcairo-perl Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libcairo-perl using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libcairo-perl

How To Uninstall libcairo-perl on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the libcairo-perl package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libcairo-perl

Uninstall libcairo-perl And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libcairo-perl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcairo-perl

To remove libcairo-perl configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libcairo-perl
