How To Install libc6-pic on Ubuntu 18.04

What is libc6-pic
libc6-pic is:
Contains an archive library (ar file) composed of individual shared objects. This is used for creating a library which is a smaller subset of the standard libc shared library. The reduced library is used by debian-installer and may be useful for custom installation media and in embedded systems.
There are three methods to install libc6-pic
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude

Install libc6-pic Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libc6-pic
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libc6-pic

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libc6-pic
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libc6-pic
Install libc6-pic Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libc6-pic
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libc6-pic
How To Uninstall libc6-pic on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libc6-pic
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libc6-pic
Uninstall libc6-pic And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libc6-pic
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libc6-pic
Remove libc6-pic Configurations and Data
To remove libc6-pic
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libc6-pic
Remove libc6-pic configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libc6-pic
