What is libbpfcc

libbpfcc is:

BPF Compiler Collection (BCC) is a toolkit for creating efficient kernel tracing and manipulation programs

It makes use of extended BPF (Berkeley Package Filter) and provides tools for BPF based Linux IO analysis, networking, monitoring and more

This package provides the shared library for BPF Compiler Collection to control BPF programs from userspace.

There are three methods to install libbpfcc on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libbpfcc Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libbpfcc using apt-get by running the following command:

Uninstall libbpfcc And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libbpfcc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libbpfcc

Remove libbpfcc Configurations and Data

To remove libbpfcc configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libbpfcc

Remove libbpfcc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libbpfcc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libbpfcc
