How To Install libbmusb-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libbmusb-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libbmusb-dev
libbmusb-dev is:
bmusb is a userspace driver for Blackmagic’s USB3 series of video capture and playback cards (although only the capture part is currently supported), in particular the Intensity Shuttle (HDMI) and UltraStudio SDI cards. These are not currently served by Blackmagic’s own Linux drivers.
bmusb is not API- or ABI-compatible with Blackmagic’s drivers.
This package contains the development files and static library.
There are three methods to install libbmusb-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libbmusb-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libbmusb-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libbmusb-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libbmusb-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libbmusb-devHow To Uninstall libbmusb-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libbmusb-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libbmusb-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libbmusb-devRemove libbmusb-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libbmusb-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libbmusb-devRemove libbmusb-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libbmusb-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
