How To Install libbitstring-ocaml on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libbitstring-ocaml on Kali Linux.
What is libbitstring-ocaml
libbitstring-ocaml is:
Bitstring adds Erlang-style bitstrings and matching over bitstrings as a syntax extension and library for OCaml.
You can use this module to both parse and generate binary formats, files and protocols.
Bitstring handling is added as primitives to the language, making it simple to use.
Bitstring handles integers, strings, sub-bitstrings, big-, little- and native-endianness, signed and unsigned types, variable-width fields, fields with arbitrary bit alignment.
This package contains only the shared runtime stub libraries.
There are three methods to install libbitstring-ocaml on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libbitstring-ocaml Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libbitstring-ocaml using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the libbitstring-ocaml package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libbitstring-ocaml and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libbitstring-ocamlRemove libbitstring-ocaml Configurations and Data
To remove libbitstring-ocaml configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libbitstring-ocamlRemove libbitstring-ocaml configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libbitstring-ocaml configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libbitstring-ocamlDependencies
