How To Install libbdd-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libbdd-dev on Kali Linux.
What is libbdd-dev
libbdd-dev is:
Binary decision diagrams (BDDs) are space-efficient encodings of boolean expressions or dynamic truth tables, used in eg. model checking. BuDDy is an efficient BDD library with all the standard BDD operations, dynamic reordering of variables, automated garbage collection, a C++ interface with automatic reference counting, and more.
libbdd-dev is the BuDDy development package containing a static library and the include files needed for building applications using BuDDy.
There are three methods to install libbdd-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libbdd-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libbdd-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libbdd-devInstall libbdd-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libbdd-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libbdd-devInstall libbdd-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libbdd-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libbdd-devHow To Uninstall libbdd-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libbdd-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libbdd-devUninstall libbdd-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libbdd-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libbdd-devRemove libbdd-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libbdd-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libbdd-devRemove libbdd-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libbdd-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libbdd-devDependencies
