How To Install libastring-ocaml on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libastring-ocaml on Kali Linux.
What is libastring-ocaml
libastring-ocaml is:
Astring exposes an alternative String module for OCaml. This module tries to balance minimality and expressiveness for basic, index-free, string processing and provides types and functions for substrings, string sets and string maps.
Remaining compatible with the OCaml String module is a non-goal. The String module exposed by Astring has exception safe functions, removes deprecated and rarely used functions, alters some signatures and names, adds a few missing functions and fully exploits OCaml’s newfound string immutability.
This package contains runtime files.
There are three methods to install libastring-ocaml on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libastring-ocaml Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libastring-ocaml using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libastring-ocamlInstall libastring-ocaml Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libastring-ocaml using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libastring-ocamlInstall libastring-ocaml Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libastring-ocaml using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libastring-ocamlHow To Uninstall libastring-ocaml on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libastring-ocaml package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libastring-ocamlUninstall libastring-ocaml And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libastring-ocaml and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libastring-ocamlRemove libastring-ocaml Configurations and Data
To remove libastring-ocaml configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libastring-ocamlRemove libastring-ocaml configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libastring-ocaml configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libastring-ocamlDependencies
