How To Install libasm-java on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libasm-java on Kali Linux.

What is libasm-java

libasm-java is:

ASM is an all purpose Java bytecode manipulation and analysis framework. It can be used to modify existing classes or dynamically generate classes, directly in binary form. Provided common transformations and analysis algorithms allow one to easily assemble custom complex transformations and code analysis tools.

ASM offer similar functionality as other bytecode frameworks, but it is focused on simplicity of use and performance. Because it was designed and implemented to be as small and as fast as possible, it makes it very attractive for using in dynamic systems.

There are three methods to install libasm-java on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libasm-java Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libasm-java using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libasm-java

After updating apt database, We can install libasm-java using apt by running the following command:

Install libasm-java Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libasm-java using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libasm-java

How To Uninstall libasm-java on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the libasm-java package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libasm-java

Uninstall libasm-java And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libasm-java and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libasm-java

Remove libasm-java Configurations and Data

To remove libasm-java configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libasm-java
