How To Install libappstream-glib8 on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libappstream-glib8 on Kali Linux.
What is libappstream-glib8
libappstream-glib8 is:
AppStream is a cross-distribution effort for creating and sharing metadata about software components available in the package repositories of a distribution.
This package contains a GObject-based library to read and write AppStream XML metadata and retrieve additional data such as screenshots.
As opposed to libappstream, this library does not use an on-disk cache but reads data directly from the XML or DEP-11 YAML files.
There are three methods to install libappstream-glib8 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libappstream-glib8 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libappstream-glib8 using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libappstream-glib8 using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To remove libappstream-glib8 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libappstream-glib8Remove libappstream-glib8 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libappstream-glib8 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
