This library provides GObjects and helper methods to make it easy to read and write AppStream metadata. It also provides a simple DOM implementation that makes it easy to edit nodes and convert to and from the standardized XML representation.
We can use yum or dnf to install libappstream-glib on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libappstream-glib.
Install libappstream-glib on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libappstream-glib using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libappstream-glib
Install libappstream-glib on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libappstream-glib using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libappstream-glib
How To Uninstall libappstream-glib on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the libappstream-glib package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libappstream-glib
