How To Install libappstream-dev on Kali Linux

What is libappstream-dev
libappstream-dev is:
AppStream is a metadata specification which permits software components to provide information about themselves to automated systems and end-users before the software is actually installed. This permits informative displays of new applications to users in software centers, as well as allowing a system to make decisions on which new software a user might want to install (e.g. missing firmware or media handlers).
This package contains development files necessary to develop software management tools which use the AppStream library.
There are three methods to install libappstream-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libappstream-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libappstream-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the libappstream-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libappstream-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libappstream-devRemove libappstream-dev Configurations and Data
To remove libappstream-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
