How To Install libapache2-mod-evasive on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install libapache2-mod-evasive on Kali Linux.
What is libapache2-mod-evasive
libapache2-mod-evasive is:
mod_evasive is an evasive maneuvers module for Apache to provide some protection in the event of an HTTP DoS or DDoS attack or brute force attack.
It is also designed to be a detection tool, and can be easily configured to talk to ipchains, firewalls, routers, and etcetera.
This module only works on Apache 2.x servers
There are three methods to install libapache2-mod-evasive on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libapache2-mod-evasive Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libapache2-mod-evasive using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libapache2-mod-evasiveInstall libapache2-mod-evasive Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install libapache2-mod-evasive using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the libapache2-mod-evasive package we can use the following command:

To uninstall libapache2-mod-evasive and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libapache2-mod-evasiveRemove libapache2-mod-evasive Configurations and Data
To remove libapache2-mod-evasive configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libapache2-mod-evasiveRemove libapache2-mod-evasive configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libapache2-mod-evasive configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libapache2-mod-evasiveDependencies
