How To Install libadns1 on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install libadns1 on Kali Linux.

What is libadns1

libadns1 is:

adns is a resolver library for C (and C++) programs. In contrast with the existing interfaces, gethostbyname et al and libresolv, it can be used in an asynchronous, non-blocking manner, and has a convenient interface which doesn’t require the application to handle any DNS data formats. Many queries can be handled simultaneously.

This package contains the runtime library.

There are three methods to install libadns1 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libadns1 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libadns1 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install libadns1

Install libadns1 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libadns1 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install libadns1

Install libadns1 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update
