What is libXcompshad

NX is a software suite from NoMachine which implements very efficient compression of the X11 protocol. This increases performance when using X applications over a network, especially a slow one. This package provides the session shadowing library.

We can use yum or dnf to install libXcompshad on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libXcompshad.

Install libXcompshad on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
