How To Install libXcomp on Rocky Linux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libXcomp on Rocky Linux 8.
What is libXcomp
NX is a software suite from NoMachine which implements very efficient compression of the X11 protocol. This increases performance when using X applications over a network, especially a slow one. This package contains the NX differential compression library for X11.
We can use yum or dnf to install libXcomp on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libXcomp.
Install libXcomp on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libXcomp using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libXcomp
Install libXcomp on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libXcomp using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libXcomp
How To Uninstall libXcomp on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the libXcomp package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libXcomp
