How To Install libXau on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libXau on AlmaLinux 8.
What is libXau
This is a very simple mechanism for providing individual access to an X Window System display.It uses existing core protocol and library hooks for specifying authorization data in the connection setup block to restrict use of the display to only those clients that show that they know a server-specific key called a “magic cookie”.
We can use yum or dnf to install libXau on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libXau.
Install libXau on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libXau using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libXau
Install libXau on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libXau using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libXau
How To Uninstall libXau on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the libXau package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libXau
