How To Install leptonica-progs on Debian 10
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install leptonica-progs
on Debian 10.
What is leptonica-progs
leptonica-progs is:
Well-tested C library for some basic image processing operations, along with a description of the functions and some design methods. A full set of affine transformations (translation, shear, rotation, scaling) on images of all depths is included, with the exception that some of the scaling methods do not work at all depths. There are also implementations of binary morphology, grayscale morphology, convolution and rank order filters, and applications such as jbig2 image processing and color quantization. You will also find basic utilities for the safe and efficient handling of arrays (of strings, numbers, number pairs and image-related geometrical objects), byte queues, generic stacks, generic lists, and endian-independent indexing into 32-bit arrays.
There are three methods to install leptonica-progs
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install leptonica-progs Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install leptonica-progs
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install leptonica-progs
Install leptonica-progs Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install leptonica-progs
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install leptonica-progs
Install leptonica-progs Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install leptonica-progs
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install leptonica-progs
How To Uninstall leptonica-progs on Debian 10
To uninstall only the leptonica-progs
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove leptonica-progs
Uninstall leptonica-progs And Its Dependencies
To uninstall leptonica-progs
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove leptonica-progs
Remove leptonica-progs Configurations and Data
To remove leptonica-progs
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge leptonica-progs
Remove leptonica-progs configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove leptonica-progs
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge leptonica-progs
Dependencies
leptonica-progs have the following dependencies:
