How To Install lecm on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install lecm on Kali Linux.
What is lecm
lecm is:
Let’s Encrypt Certificates Manager (lecm) is an utility that allows one to manage (generate and renew) Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates.
lecm can be placed in a cron to automatically renew lecm’s managed certificates according to a threshold; during the renewal operations lecm is also able to restart the web server.
lecm take a yaml style configuration (default to /etc/lecm.conf), parameter can be declared for all managed certificates or individually.
There are three methods to install lecm on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install lecm Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lecm using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install lecmInstall lecm Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lecm using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install lecmInstall lecm Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lecm using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install lecmHow To Uninstall lecm on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the lecm package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lecmUninstall lecm And Its Dependencies
To uninstall lecm and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lecmRemove lecm Configurations and Data
To remove lecm configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lecmRemove lecm configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove lecm configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge lecmDependencies
