How To Install leafnode on Kali Linux

on Kali Linux.
What is leafnode
leafnode is:
Leafnode is a news server suitable for small, limited-bandwidth sites with only a few users (’leaf’ sites). It keeps track of which groups are being read, and downloads only articles in those groups. Leafnode has been designed to require no maintenance and to be easy to set up.
Perl is required to use some optional features of the package for handling very low volume newsgroups.
There are three methods to install leafnode
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install leafnode Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install leafnode
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install leafnode

Update apt database with apt

sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install leafnode
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install leafnode
Install leafnode Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install leafnode
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install leafnode
How To Uninstall leafnode on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the leafnode
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove leafnode
Uninstall leafnode And Its Dependencies
To uninstall leafnode
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove leafnode
Remove leafnode Configurations and Data
To remove leafnode
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge leafnode
