How To Install lcas-interface on Ubuntu 20.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install lcas-interface on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is lcas-interface
lcas-interface is:
LCAS makes binary (‘yes’ or ’no’) authorization decisions at the site and resource level. In making this decision, it can use a variety of inputs: the ‘grid’ name of the user (the Subject Distinguished Name), any VO attributes the user has (like VOMS FQANs), the name of the executable the user intends to execute. It supports basic black and white list functionality, but also more complex VOMS-based expressions, based on the GACL language.
This package contains the interface, needed to build plug-ins for LCAS.
There are three methods to install lcas-interface on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install lcas-interface Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install lcas-interface using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install lcas-interface
Install lcas-interface Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install lcas-interface using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install lcas-interface
Install lcas-interface Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install lcas-interface using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install lcas-interface
How To Uninstall lcas-interface on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the lcas-interface package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lcas-interface
Uninstall lcas-interface And Its Dependencies
To uninstall lcas-interface and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lcas-interface
Remove lcas-interface Configurations and Data
To remove lcas-interface configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lcas-interface
Remove lcas-interface configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove lcas-interface configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge lcas-interface
