How To Install lava on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install lava on Kali Linux.
What is lava
lava is:
LAVA is a continuous integration system for deploying operating systems onto physical and virtual hardware for running tests. Tests can be simple boot testing, bootloader testing and system level testing, although extra hardware may be required for some system tests. Results are tracked over time and data can be exported for further analysis.
This metapackage brings in all LAVA components on a single machine. Some suggested packages may not be available for all architectures.
There are three methods to install lava on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install lava Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lava using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install lavaInstall lava Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lava using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install lavaInstall lava Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install lava using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install lavaHow To Uninstall lava on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the lava package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove lavaUninstall lava And Its Dependencies
To uninstall lava and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove lavaRemove lava Configurations and Data
To remove lava configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge lavaRemove lava configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove lava configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge lavaDependencies
