How To Install latexml on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install latexml on Kali Linux.
What is latexml
latexml is:
latexml is a program, written in Perl, that attempts to faithfully mimic TeX’s behaviour, but produces XML instead of dvi. The document model of the target XML makes explicit the model implied by LaTeX.
The processing and model are both extensible; you can define the mapping between TeX constructs and the XML fragments to be created. A postprocessor, latexmlpost converts this XML into other formats such as HTML or XHTML, with options to convert the math into MathML (currently only presentation) or images.
There are three methods to install latexml on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install latexml Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install latexml using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install latexmlInstall latexml Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install latexml using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install latexmlInstall latexml Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install latexml using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install latexmlHow To Uninstall latexml on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the latexml package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove latexmlUninstall latexml And Its Dependencies
To uninstall latexml and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove latexmlRemove latexml Configurations and Data
To remove latexml configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge latexmlRemove latexml configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove latexml configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge latexmlDependencies
