What is latencytop-tui

LatencyTOP is a tool for software developers (both kernel and userspace), aimed at identifying where in the system latency is happening, and what kind of operation/action is causing the latency to happen so that the code can be changed to avoid the worst latency hiccups. This package contains a build of LatencyTOP without GUI support (and with few dependencies).

We can use yum or dnf to install latencytop-tui on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install latencytop-tui.

Install latencytop-tui on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install latencytop-tui using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install latencytop-tui

Install latencytop-tui on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install latencytop-tui using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install latencytop-tui

How To Uninstall latencytop-tui on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the latencytop-tui package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove latencytop-tui
