How To Install kwstyle on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install kwstyle on Kali Linux.

What is kwstyle

kwstyle is:

KWStyle is integrated in the software process to ensure that the code written by several users is consistent and can be viewed/printed as it was written by one person.

KWStyle is primarily checking C/C++ source code but can be easily extended to other languages. It assumes that the code is syntactically correct, i.e., it compiles on a standard compiler.

There are three methods to install kwstyle on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install kwstyle Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install kwstyle using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install kwstyle

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install kwstyle using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

How To Uninstall kwstyle on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the kwstyle package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove kwstyle

To uninstall kwstyle and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove kwstyle

Remove kwstyle Configurations and Data

To remove kwstyle configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge kwstyle
