How To Install kubernetes-client on Kali Linux

What is kubernetes-client

kubernetes-client is:

Kubernetes is a portable, extensible, open-source platform for managing containerized workloads and services, that facilitates both declarative configuration and automation. It has a large, rapidly growing ecosystem. Kubernetes services, support, and tools are widely available.

Currently this package only ships the kubectl binary. Configuration (via kubeconfig) will has to be created via other means.

There are three methods to install kubernetes-client on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install kubernetes-client Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install kubernetes-client using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install kubernetes-client

Install kubernetes-client Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install kubernetes-client using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install kubernetes-client

Install kubernetes-client Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install kubernetes-client using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install kubernetes-client

How To Uninstall kubernetes-client on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the kubernetes-client package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove kubernetes-client

Uninstall kubernetes-client And Its Dependencies

To uninstall kubernetes-client and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove kubernetes-client

Remove kubernetes-client Configurations and Data

To remove kubernetes-client configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge kubernetes-client

Remove kubernetes-client configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove kubernetes-client configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge kubernetes-client
