How To Install kstart on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install kstart on Kali Linux.
What is kstart
kstart is:
k5start can be used instead of kinit to obtain Kerberos tickets. krenew can be used instead of kinit -R to renew renewable tickets. They are intended primarily for use with automated or long-running processes and support some additional features useful for that purpose, such as running as a daemon and refreshing the ticket periodically, checking to see if an existing ticket has expired, or obtaining an AFS token along with the ticket by running an external program automatically.
There are three methods to install kstart on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install kstart Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install kstart using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install kstartInstall kstart Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install kstart using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install kstartInstall kstart Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install kstart using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install kstartHow To Uninstall kstart on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the kstart package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove kstartUninstall kstart And Its Dependencies
To uninstall kstart and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove kstartRemove kstart Configurations and Data
To remove kstart configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge kstartRemove kstart configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove kstart configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge kstartDependencies
