How To Install krita on Kali Linux

What is krita

krita is:

Krita is a creative application for raster images. Whether you want to create from scratch or work with existing images, Krita is for you. You can work with photos or scanned images, or start with a blank slate. Krita supports most graphics tablets out of the box.

Krita is different from other graphics design programs in that it has pluggable brush engines, some supporting brush resources like Gimp brush files, others offering sophisticated simulation of real brushes, and others again offering color mixing and image deformations. Moreover, Krita has full support for graphics tablets, including such features as pressure, tilt and rate, making it a great choice for artists. There are easy to use tools for drawing lines, ellipses and rectangles, and the freehand tool is supported by pluggable “drawing assistants” that help you draw shapes that still have a freehand feeling to them.

There are three methods to install krita on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install krita Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install krita using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install krita

Install krita Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install krita using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install krita

Install krita Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install krita using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install krita

How To Uninstall krita on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the krita package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove krita

Uninstall krita And Its Dependencies

To uninstall krita and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove krita

Remove krita Configurations and Data

To remove krita configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge krita

Remove krita configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove krita configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge krita
