What is krb5-pkinit
Kerberos is a network authentication system. The krb5-pkinit package contains the PKINIT plugin, which allows clients to obtain initial credentials from a KDC using a private key and a certificate.
We can use yum or dnf to install krb5-pkinit on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install krb5-pkinit.
Install krb5-pkinit on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install krb5-pkinit using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install krb5-pkinit
Install krb5-pkinit on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install krb5-pkinit using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install krb5-pkinit
How To Uninstall krb5-pkinit on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the krb5-pkinit package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove krb5-pkinit
