How To Install krb5-doc on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install krb5-doc on Kali Linux.

What is krb5-doc

krb5-doc is:

Kerberos is a system for authenticating users and services on a network. Kerberos is a trusted third-party service. That means that there is a third party (the Kerberos server) that is trusted by all the entities on the network (users and services, usually called “principals”).

This is the MIT reference implementation of Kerberos V5.

This package contains the installation, administrator, and user reference manuals for MIT Kerberos and the man pages for the MIT Kerberos configuration files.

There are three methods to install krb5-doc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install krb5-doc Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install krb5-doc using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install krb5-doc

Install krb5-doc Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install krb5-doc using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install krb5-doc

Install krb5-doc Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install krb5-doc using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install krb5-doc

How To Uninstall krb5-doc on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the krb5-doc package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove krb5-doc

Uninstall krb5-doc And Its Dependencies

To uninstall krb5-doc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove krb5-doc

Remove krb5-doc Configurations and Data

To remove krb5-doc configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge krb5-doc

Remove krb5-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove krb5-doc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge krb5-doc
