How To Install krb5-config on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install krb5-config on Kali Linux.
What is krb5-config
krb5-config is:
This package provides /etc/krb5.conf and any other files needed to configure Kerberos Version 5. This package may be used with one of the implementations of Kerberos in Debian, or with a locally built Kerberos. Generally this package will be installed as part of installing some Kerberos implementation.
There are three methods to install krb5-config on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install krb5-config Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install krb5-config using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install krb5-configInstall krb5-config Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install krb5-config using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install krb5-configInstall krb5-config Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install krb5-config using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install krb5-configHow To Uninstall krb5-config on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the krb5-config package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove krb5-configUninstall krb5-config And Its Dependencies
To uninstall krb5-config and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove krb5-configRemove krb5-config Configurations and Data
To remove krb5-config configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge krb5-configRemove krb5-config configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove krb5-config configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge krb5-configDependencies
